Clastalgia is a free web service for adults who want to reconnect with old school classmates. Instead of searching for names, you add your school, your class range and the years you studied. When another person has entered the same school, the same class and the same year, you both appear as matches, and you can say hello in a private classroom chat.
Why it exists
School friendships are some of the closest we ever make, and they are also some of the easiest to lose. Phone numbers change, families move and names get forgotten. Searching social platforms works only if you remember a full name and the person uses the same one. We wanted a gentler way to find people: through the one thing you will always share, the years you spent together.
A note from the founder
Since childhood, I have changed a lot of schools. In every school I made new friends, and some of them were so close that going to school felt empty without them. But when the school year ended, we slowly drifted apart. There was no goodbye and no plan to stay in touch. One day the class, the bench and the people were just behind me.
Even today, I still look for them. I had a friend named 'Vishal'. When I search his name on social media, hundreds of 'Vishals' show up. Different photos, different cities. I don't know where he is now or what he does. I don't even know if he made his account with his real name. Searching by name is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
And I know this isn't only my story. Almost everyone has a friend like that, someone they shared their childhood with, but can't find anymore.
Then one thing struck me. There is one thing we will always have in common: the class where we sat together and did all our childish things. Names can change, cities can change, even profile photos can change. But that school and that class will never change.
That thought is how Clastalgia started. Finding an old friend not by name, but by school and class. Maybe he is also out there, looking for me.
I can't promise that everyone will find someone. But what's the harm in trying once? Maybe this time you find the friend you lost, and get to live a little bit of your childhood again.

How we think about it
- Exact matching. Matches are checked at the level of school, class and academic year, so you meet people you really studied with.
- Adults only. Clastalgia is for people aged 18 and over.
- Privacy first. We collect only what the service needs, give you controls over optional settings and let you request deletion of your account. Read our Privacy Policy and Terms.
- No friend requests. Matches appear automatically from your timeline, so there is no awkward cold outreach.
Where the project stands
Clastalgia is in an early beta and is currently free to use. We are adding schools and improving the service based on feedback. If your school is missing, you can request it from inside the app.
